The original recipe was passed to me by our Brewer, Meredith Allen, who got it from Rebecca Wood.
I tweaked the recipe to include Jun, raw honey, and some additional spices. It was a huge hit last year so I thought I would share it with you again this year!🙏
Adding Jun to recipes can enhance the health benefits and also aids digestion!💫
Ingredients:
16oz (4 cups) of fresh or frozen cranberries
½ orange seeded and chopped (reserve the peel for orange zest)
½ cup raw honey
½ cup Jun (cranberry sparkle, chai, or ginger taste best)
2 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp minced fresh ginger (use ⅛ tsp dried if you don’t have fresh)
½ tsp allspice
orange zest (for garnish)
2 cinnamon sticks (for garnish)
Instructions: Mix all of the ingredients together in a food processor including the orange peel gratings and pulse to coarsely chop. Optional: add 1 cup chopped walnuts. Then pack the relish into wide-mouth jars. Leave these at room temperature for 1-2 days. You can store it in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks.
